Enhanced Boutonnieres | Perrysburg Wedding Planner

How many of you always notice that when you are at a wedding, you notice that the groom and groomsmen’s boutonnieres are huge, ugly, flopping to the side, and breaking off?

There is an easy way to avoid this unsightly nightmare!

Step 1: Refuse any suggestion by the florist to use roses, large or small.

Step 2: Insist on calla lilies for the men. Insist on hat pins to attach the boutonniere to the men’s jackets, pinning from behind.

Step 3: If the calla lilies are purchased from a wholesaler or grocery store, wrap the calla lily along with a small amount of greenery in a small piece of ribbon. Secure the small package with a small piece of floral arrangement wire.

Step 4: Hold the calla lily boutonniere at a slight angle, top of the flower pointing slightly to the man’s left shoulder, wrap the lapel around the flower, and pin from behind with a long hatpin.

  1. There are actually tons of flowers that work for boutonnieres and as long as you are hiring a florist that knows what they are doing. The trained florist is able to use wire and water sources to ensure that the flowers look great all day long. Regardless of the flowers chosen, the men do have to be careful with the flowers because no matter what we do, there are always instances where problems could arise.
