In today’s economy brides are trying to stretch every last penny of their wedding budget. One of the easiest ways to save a bunch of green on your wedding day is to choose a venue that allows you to provide your own alcohol. At venues that require you to buy their alcohol, your liquor tab can be one of the most expensive things for your wedding. Avoid these high cost by finding venues that will let you bring in your own alcohol, purchased at liquor store prices. Some of our favorite venues that allow you to bring your own alcohol are: St. George Hall in Rossford, Strawberry Acres in Holland and Ole Zims in Gibsonburg!
Having control of the bar at your own wedding also gives you some other great advantages and opportunities to apply your personal touch. Perhaps one of your wedding colors is lavender and you want to serve lavender lemonade cocktails, or maybe you want to have a Mojito bar with four different kinds of Mojitos. The options are endless when you have control over the bar and you will be able to put a very special and memorable touch to your reception.
. Here are a few tips to remember:
Drink Up
How much liquor will you need for 100 guests? Talk to your bartender (we recommend Premier Pour); in the meantime, here are some averages:
- Beer: 5 to 6 cases
- Whiskey: 1 liter
- Bourbon: 1 liter
- Gin: 2 to 3 liters
- Scotch: 2 liters
- Light rum: 1 liter
- Vodka: 5 liters
- Tequila: 1 liter
- Champagne: 1 to 1 1/2 cases
- Red wine: 2 cases
- White wine: 3 1/2 cases
- Dry vermouth: 1 bottle
- Sweet vermouth: 1 bottle
Where to buy it?
Now you ask, where do I purchase the alcohol at. Some of our suggestions are: The Anderson's, The Beer & Wine Cave or have a Stock the Bar shower. This shower will get you all the supplies you need to "stock the bar" at your wedding!
